Brandywine v. Penn College

The Lions took a cross state trip to Williamsport to take on defending PSUAC Champs and league rivals, Penn College, on September 3. Brandywine took out all the stops and pushed the Wildcats to their breaking point. After falling behind 2-0, the Lions earned a penalty kick because of the hard work of Jim Kallarakal. Alex Steele finished the opportunity with his first goal of the season and the game. Kallarakal caused trouble in the Wildcat backfield all day, causing them to cover him man to man. Newcomer, Nick Previti recorded seven saves and earned his first collegiate tie.
Behind 2-1 in the second half, Kallarakal finally broke free of the defense on a through pass, dribbled past the goalie and scored the tying goal with a tap in from six yards out. Dmitriy Zherdev saved the day late in the second half by blocking a goal line shot while Previti was down after making the initial save. After 20 minutes of extra time and Zherdev's 30 yard shot off the crossbar, the Lions settled with a tie.
