Running for Brandywine means...
The theme of our running program at Penn State Brandywine is developing a lifelong understanding of the sport through play, education, work, development, relaxation, recovery and fun. If running misses any of these important components, it does not provide a source of joy and focus for the athlete. We are all athletes at different levels who need to focus in order to improve and achieve.
In focusing on improving and achieving effectively, we prepare to compete in life. Preparation for competitive running is a pursuit which challenges and demands more of a student athlete, but gives back so much. It provides the balance for a well rounded and healthy future. The student athlete in competition requires support from all those around - especially family, friends, and teammates to help focus on the goal. All must understand... It has got to be fun!
Over the next few months as we develop our program, our aim is to have each athlete learn more about the sport, gain more knowledge of self, and most importantly improve and achieve in an atmosphere that provides for all the necessities of our goal.
Life is fun when you run! Remember that and pass it on.
