Brandywine pushing for playoffs
Valley Forge Christian College came to Brandywine October 11 to take on the women's volleyball team. Brandywine took a running start and bested Valley Forge in three games. It was a great team effort and encouraging win to get Brandywine ready for post season.
After an easy win against Valley Forge Christian, Brandywine headed to Penn State Mont Alto with a great deal of nervous energy. This match was important for both teams as it was a determining factor in playoffs and who would host a home match in the first round. Unfortunately, Brandywine was unable to get over their fear and fell in three to Mont Alto.
"We had no energy and more disappointingly no confidence," said head coach Melissa Algeo. "After beating Mont Alto the first time we saw them this year I thought we would be going into this with our heads high and with a confidence that was unmatched. These women fought hard but just couldn't get past the enormity of this one single match. We look to seeing Mont Alto again in the first round of playoffs and hope to get a better result."
