MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine volleyball team improved to 2-0 on the season following a 3-0 (25-15, 25-6, 25-13) victory over Bryn Mawr College on Saturday afternoon. Brandywine is now 2-0 for the third consecutive year.

One day after producing 17 aces in a win at Rosemont, Brandywine topped that mark by registering 18 service points against the Owls. Margot Gargus (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) produced half of the team's aces, while Lauren Kelly (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) added six.

Gargus also tallied eight digs and Becca Civera (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) topped the team with nine. Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) led the offense by recording 10 kills, while Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) added eight. Sullivan Stark (Middletown, Del./William Penn) handed out 25 assists.

The first set was closely contested with Brandywine leading 13-12, but the Lions recorded 12 of the final 15 points, including the final five, to grab a 1-0 lead.

Brandywine and Bryn Mawr were tied 2-2 during set No. 2 before the Lions rattled off 16 consecutive points to take a commanding lead. Gargus tallied five of those 16 points with service aces, while Kelly added three kills during the surge. The Lions steadily pulled away during the final frame and a Napoleon kill completed the straight-set victory for Brandywine.

Brandywine is back on the road on Tuesday at Albright beginning at 7:00 PM.
