Brandywine Places 65 Spring Student-Athletes On PSUAC All-Academic Team

MEDIA, Pa. – Sixty-five Penn State Brandywine student-athletes from 13 teams received All-Academic Team awards from the Penn State University Athletic Conference following the completion of the spring semester.

To earn a place on the PSUAC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must earn a minimum GPA of 3.0 during their semester of competition or own a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Brandywine's 65 honorees represented 76 percent of the 86 student-athletes who competed in a spring or winter sport during the semester. Overall during the 2020-21 academic year, 116 of Brandywine's 148 student-athletes (78 percent) were honored on PSUAC All-Academic Teams.

Nineteen student-athletes from Brandywine baseball earned a selection, while 11 softball student-athletes claimed the distinction.

From the men's basketball squad, 10 members were honored and eight student-athletes from women's basketball received accolades.

A total of seven members from the cross country and track and field teams were named to the all-academic teams, while five student-athletes from golf and the tennis squads landed awards.

During the 2020-21 academic year, Brandywine student-athletes combined for a 3.22 cumulative GPA. Women's cross country/track and field led the way during the spring semester with a 3.83 GPA and overall, totaling a 3.64 grade-point average during the academic year. Overall, 15 of Brandywine's 16 varsity programs posted a cumulative GPA of 3.12 or better in 2020-21.
