Brandywine Names Dennis Murray Head Golf Coach

MEDIA, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine Director of Athletics Bobbi Caprice announced that Dennis Murray has been selected as the new head coach of the Lions' golf team on Tuesday.

Murray comes to Brandywine from Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast High School where he served as an assistant golf coach. At Bonner-Prendie, Murray worked with student-athletes to improve techniques and scores in a competitive environment. He also initiated multiple fundraising efforts for the team. In 2016 and 2018, Murray aided in fundraising and organizing team trips to Northern Ireland. In 2019, the golf team from Northern Ireland came to the USA.

In addition, Murray has volunteered at the U.S. Open, most recently at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore in 2013.

Outside of golf, Murray was a referee-in-chief and instructor for USA Hockey for 11 years, officiating more than 1,000 games. He has provided leadership for officials and officiated numerous championship and special events throughout the United States.
