Brandywine Takes Sixth At LBC Invitational
Lebanon, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine claimed sixth place following the second and final round of the Lancaster Bible College Spring Golf Invitational on Tuesday at Lebanon Country Club.
Brandywine posted a two-day team score of 701 (330-371), while Hood College held on to its first-round lead and captured the team title in 623 strokes.
Matt Cavanaugh (Drexel Hill, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) was the low man for the Lions, posting a two-round total of 162 strokes. His second-round 79 included three birdies on Tuesday afternoon. After carding an opening-round 78, Eric Angle (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) finished one shot behind Cavanaugh as he recorded 85 strokes on Tuesday. Cavanaugh tied for 12th, while Angle placed 15th in the 40-player field.
Steven Kimmel (Avondale, Pa.) registered a two-round score of 183 (82-101) and Joseph Koehler (Chadds Ford, Pa./Garnet Valley) tallied 214 strokes (108-106). Charlie Hughes (West Chester, Pa.) and Carl Galantino (Media, Pa./Penncrest) rounded out the Lions as Hughes finished with 224 strokes and Galantino notched 230 strokes. Ty Coccia (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) competed on Tuesday, posting a round of 95.
Brandywine will complete its regular season Tuesday at the Penn State Abington Invitational.
