Brandywine Finishes Eighth At The Bear

KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team wrapped up action at The Bear, hosted by Ursinus, playing the final 18 holes of the two-day tournament on Saturday. The Lions finished eighth in the team standings.

Matt Cavanaugh (Drexel Hill, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) and Eric Angle (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) posted identical rounds of 79 Saturday to lead the Lions. Cavanaugh paired Saturday's 79 with a round of 75 Friday to finish in 13th place, while Angle totaled 165 strokes (86-79) to finished 29th.

Dominic Guzzo (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) followed an 85 Friday by carding an 89 on Saturday. Eddie Ricottone (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) improved by 12 strokes over the opening round, posting an 84, while Nicholas Grantland (Media, Pa./Penncrest) posted a 96 on Saturday.

Penn College claimed the team title, while Villanova's Ian Love won individual medalist honors.

Brandywine will wrap up its fall slate on Monday, October 27 at the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen Invitational.
