UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine freshman Brian Abel (Amesbury, Mass./Amesbury) has been named Penn State University Athletic Conference Runner of the Week after each meet this fall, continuing his streak with his third award on Tuesday.

Abel was the second men's runner to cross the finish line at the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational on Saturday. He finished the 8K race, Brandywine's first against PSUAC competition this year, with a time of 29:39, the fourth-fastest time in program history.

Earlier this fall, Abel debuted at the DelVal Invitational, winning an individual championship, the first-ever by a Lion. He followed that performance by breaking the school 8K record one week later, giving him two of the top four times in school history through three races.

On Saturday, Brandywine travels to Maryland for Salisbury University's Don Cathcart Invitational beginning at 9:00 AM.
