COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team dropped its second-straight non-conference road game as Ursinus defeated the Lions 87-47 on Monday night.
Athena Brombacher (Vacaville, Calif./Will C. Wood) led the way for Brandywine with teams highs of 15 points and nine rebounds. She shot 6-of-9 from the field and added a pair of steals. Sierra Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) knocked down four three-pointers and tallied 14 points, while Dairayonna Stewart-Harold (New Castle, Del./William Penn) chipped in seven points.
Ursinus scored 10 of the final 13 points during the first quarter to build a 23-12 edge after 10 minutes and extended its lead to 48-19 by halftime.
Brandywine canned seven of 17 three-point shots and made 34 percent of its shots from the field overall, but the Bears shot 48 percent and held a 40-34 edge on the boards.
Brandywine (0-2) opens conference play at Penn State Beaver Friday at 6:00 PM.
