Cross Country Teams Place Second At PSUAC Championships; Four Earn All-Conference Awards

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania -- The Penn State Brandywine men's and women's cross country teams both placed second at the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference Championships, while four Lion runners earned all-league recognition after posting top-10 finishes on Saturday morning.

Sophomores Jennifer Petrella and Nicole Maginnis and freshman Annie Mueller all garnered all-conference selections for the women's squad. The Lions will race as a team at the USCAA National Championships in Syracuse, N.Y., for the first time in program history.

Sophomore Alex Rivera-Santiago will represent the men's team at the national championships after claiming sixth place and earning all-PSUAC accolades. Rivera-Santiago ran the 8K race in a time of 33:14.

Petrella paced the women's team with a sixth-place finish in a time of 28:36. Maginnis took eighth (28:57), while Mueller sped to 10th (29:22). Senior Jessica Maginnis also posted a top-20 finish, claiming 18th (31:25).
Sophomore Kason Laventure was the second Brandywine men's runner to cross the finish line, placing 16th (36:43), while freshman Mario Miceli ran to 21st (39:07). Henry Lee finished 28th, while Luq Richard was 30th and Tito Orjih took 36th.
Brandywine competes at the Princeton Invitational in New Jersey on October 18.
