Encarnacion Earns All-American Honorable Mention From USCAA

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Penn State Brandywine was represented on the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Soccer All-American teams by junior forward Olivia Encarnacion (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro), who earned honorable mention recognition from the Association last week.

Encarnacion was one of three student-athletes from the Penn State University Athletic Conference to be honored with the national award.

During Brandywine's first season as a varsity program, Encarnacion led the team with 22 points on 10 goals and two assists, while starting all 11 games. She produced three multi-goal efforts, including the Lions' first-ever, three-goal game in a 5-2 victory over Valley Forge on Oct. 13. She also netted the first goal in the program's history, just 3:49 into the Lions' first match, a victory over Penn State Mont Alto, on Sept. 9.

Encarnacion finished the year tied for 20th in the USCAA in goal scoring and stood tied for 29th in total points. Her 50 shots were the 22nd-highest total nationally.

An all-PSUAC first team standout, Encarnacion registered at least one point in 6-of-8 league matches. She produced the fourth-highest point total in the PSUAC, while also finishing fourth in goals scored.

Brandywine posted a 7-2-2 record, including a 6-1-1 conference mark, and advanced to the PSUAC Championship where it was knocked off in penalty kicks by Penn State Beaver.
