Brandywine Returns To Action At West Chester

UNIONVILLE, Pa. -- After a two-week hiatus, the Penn State Brandywine men's and women's cross country teams returned to action Saturday, competing at West Chester University's Golden Ram Invitational. Both teams placed seventh in their respective fields.
 
Leading the Brandywine women was Adelaide Etshman (Landenberg, Pa./Avon Grove), who ran to a 5K time of 26:48, besting her previous personal-best time by nearly three minutes. 
 
Anna Caporale (Westampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) also set a new PR, clocking in at 27:26, while Naya Rivera (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) topped her prior PR by four minutes, checking in with a time of 31:28. 
 
Charlotte Aldridge (Landenberg, Pa./St. Mark's) was the fourth Lion to post a personal-best time, crossing the finish line in 34:33, while Vienna Fulgniti (Telford, Pa./Souderton) hit the finish line four seconds later.
 
Jayden Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) had the low mark for the Brandywine men, posting a 5K mark of 21:47, one second faster than Matt Briddes (Springfield, Pa./Springfield)
 
Noah Walker (Bremen, Ga./Bremen) recorded a time of 24:47, while Noah Iyoun (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) ran to a time of 24:54 and Kaiere Cornitcher (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) rounded out the Lions in 27:04. 
 
Brandywine visits Lincoln University for its annual invitational on Thursday beginning at 3:00 PM.
