Brandywine Plays Host To United East Cross Country Championships

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine wrapped up the 2025 cross country season by hosting its first United East Conference Championships as the Lion men placed eighth and the Brandywine women finished 10th on Saturday afternoon.
 
Adelaide Etshman (Landenberg, Pa./Avon Grove) was the top finisher for the Brandywine women, completing the 6K race in 33:09. Anna Caporale (Westampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) posted a time of 35:13, while Naya Rivera (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) ran to a mark of 38:07.
 
Rounding out the Lions were Charlotte Aldridge (Landenberg, Pa./St. Mark's) and Vienna Fulginiti (Telford, Pa./Souderton), who finished 16 seconds apart. Aldridge recorded a time of 44:11, while Fulginiti finished in 44:27.
 
On the men's side, Jayden Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) paced six Brandywine runners with an 8K time of 37:27. 
 
Patrick McGuire (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) was the second Lion to hit the finish line in 38:50, while Kaiere Cornitcher (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) ran to a time of 40:48.
 
Matt Briddes (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) posted a time of 45:11 and Mateo Yusuf (Cressonia, Pa./Blue Mountain) ran to a 45:22 mark. while Noah Iyoun (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) crossed the finish line in 45:52.
 
Penn State Berks claimed the men's team championship, while Gallaudet's Sevan Ikeda was the men's individual medalist. On the women's side, Clarissa Hayden of Cairn posted the low time and St. Mary's MD earned the team title.
