Cross Country Debuts At West Chester Invitational

UNIONVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine men's and women's cross country teams made their 2025 debuts Friday evening at the West Chester University Season Opener 5K. Both teams finished in fifth place.

Kaiere Cornitcher (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was the top finisher for the Brandywine men, placing 31st in the 58-man field with a time of 18:12.

Jayden Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) posted a mark of 22:22, while Patrick McGuire (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) crossed the finish line 59 seconds later. Matt Briddes (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) ran to a time of 24:37 and Noah Walker (Bremen, Ga./Bremen) turned in a time of 25:25. Mateo Yusuf (Cressonia, Pa./Blue Mountain) rounded out the Lions in 30:00.

Anna Caporale (Westampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) turned in the top time for the Brandywine women, completing the 5K course in 28:15.

Adelaide Etshman (Landenberg, Pa./Avon Grove) hit the finish line in 29:35, while Naya Rivera (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) and Raelyn Loper (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) recorded identical times of 35:36. Charlotte Aldridge (Landenberg, Pa./St. Mark's) registered a time of 37:09.

Division II Kutztown University claimed both the men's and women's team titles. The Bears also had both individual medalists as Maura Lenhart (18:51) won the women's race and Robby Lloyd (16:16) posted the top men's time.

Brandywine will host its first of two home meets this fall next Friday when the Lions hold the United East Conference Preview beginning at 4:30 PM.
