Women's Cross Country Earns First-Place Finish At Greater Allegheny Invitational

MCKEESPORT, Pennsylvania -- The Penn State Brandywine women's cross country team ran to a first-place showing at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Invitational on Saturday afternoon, while the Lions' men's squad took fifth place.

The women's team, which topped the five-squad field with 47 points, was led by Jennifer Petrella, who sped to a sixth-place individual finish in a time of 23:45. Jessica Powers also claimed a top-10 showing, placing eighth (24:15).

Niki Maginnis took 13th and Annie Mueller ran to 17th place, while Jess Maginnis finished 22nd during the 5K race.

The Lion men were paced by Alex Rivera-Santiago's 16th-place showing (20:05) during the 5K trek. Mario Miceli placed 25th and Henry Lee crossed the finish line in 36th place.

Penn State Brandywine hosts its annual invitational Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm.
