Brandywine Cross Country Competes At Paul Short Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania -- Members of the Penn State Brandywine cross country team raced at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday afternoon. The Lions competed in the College White race which featured athletes from NCAA Division II and Division III, the USCAA and the NJCAA.

Sophomore Alex Rivera-Santiago was the lone men's runner for the Lions to race at Paul Short, annually one of the top-attended and toughest collegiate races nationally. Rivera-Santiago posted a time of 32:39, his top 8K time of the year.

Freshman Jess Powers paced the women's team after completing the race in 27:53. Freshman Annie Mueller and sophomore Niki Maginnis crossed the finish line just two seconds apart with times of 28:31 and 28:33, respectfully. Senior Jess Maginnis ran the course in a time of 32:27.

RPI claimed the women's championship, while Ramapo earned the men's crown.

Brandywine now has one week to prepare for the PSUAC Championships on Oct. 11. Races begin at 1:00 pm.
