CAMDEN, N.J. – The Penn State Brandywine men's and women's tennis teams both dropped 7-0 decisions at Rutgers-Camden during the first fall matches for both teams on Friday afternoon.
Samma Zahran (Brookhaven, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) won the first set of her No. 1 singles match by a 6-3 count, but the Scarlet Raptors' Gabby Albert rallied to win the final two sets and the match.
Isabella Dolce (Media, Pa./Penncrest) won two games at No. 3 singles, while Sydney Mabry (Washington, D.C./Jackson-Reed) claimed one game at No. 4 singles.
Mateo Torres (Upper Chichester, Pa./Chichester) also went the distance during his No. 2 singles bout, but was defeated. Torres won the opening set 7-5 before dropping the final two frames.
Jonathan Parsons (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) was topped 5-7, 5-7 at No. 3 singles, while Aaron Wilson (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) won four games during his fourth-flight singles match, but fell in straight sets.
Brandywine is on the road again on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Elizabethtown beginning at noon.
