MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's and women's tennis teams returned following a three-week layoff to face Penn State Abington on Tuesday afternoon. The women's match ended in a 2-2 tie, while Abington claimed the men's match 6-1.
On the women's side, the teams split a pair of doubles matches and four contests in singles action.
Isabella Dolce (Media, Pa./Penncrest) and Samma Zahran (Brookhaven, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) cruised at No. 1 doubles, winning 6-0. Zahran was also a winner during her No. 1 singles bout, claiming a straight-set, 6-1, 6-0 triumph.
Sydney Mabry (Washington, D.C./Jackson-Reed) earned the Lions' second singles win. She produced a No. 4 singles victory by set scores of 6-3, 6-2.
Aaron Wilson (Upper Chichester, Pa./Chichester) collected a straight-set triumph to pace the Brandywine men. He recorded a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
Jonathan Parsons (Wallingford, Pa./Shipley) went the distance during his No. 3 singles match. He won the first frame 6-3, but dropped the next two sets by scores of 2-6, 2-10.
Brandywine will close out the fall tennis slate on Saturday when both squads host Neumann beginning at noon.
