Brandywine Edged By Cairn 5-4

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to Cairn University on Thursday afternoon on the Brandywine Tennis Courts.

The teams split six singles matches, but Cairn claimed two-of-three doubles contests to edge our Brandywine.

Markera Tymes (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann Goretti) picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles, while Kailin Vollmuth (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) won her fifth-flight singles match by a 6-1, 6-1 count.

Brandywine also won No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles by forfeit.

The Lions will honor their senior class prior to their final match of the spring Monday afternoon at 3:30 pm against Trinity (DC).
