Delaware Valley Tops Brandywine In Sunday Matinee

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine baseball team was defeated 12-1 by Delaware Valley in a non-conference game on Sunday.

Brandywine pushed its lone run of the day across the plate in the second inning. Will Collison (Chesapeake, Va./Queen Anne's County) led off with a double and came around to score on a base hit from Ryan Snyder (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley)

The Lions were limited to just three hits off a trio of Delaware Valley pitchers. Dan Rohlsen (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) tallied a leadoff single during the third inning to provide Brandywine's final knock.

For the second-straight day, walks hurt Brandywine pitching as four hurlers combined to issue nine free passes and hit four batters. Josh Reil (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) took the loss after allowing five runs in 2.0 innings, while Joe Casciano (Nazareth, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) fired a pair of scoreless frames in his Brandywine debut.

DelVal scored all of its runs during the first four innings. The Aggies built a 5-0 lead through two frames and put the game away with a six-run third.

Brandywine (2-3) hosts Penn State Berks Tuesday at 3:00 PM.
