Samma Zahran Named United East Tennis Player Of The Week
MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine junior Samma Zahran (Brookhaven, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was named United East Conference Women's Tennis Player of Week on Tuesday.
The weekly honor was the third in the last two years for Zahran, who earned Second Team All-United East accolades last spring.
Zahran won her singles and doubles matches last week, helping Brandywine claim its first victory of the fall. She defeated Berks' Mia Aharonoff in straight sets by scores of 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 singles action and teamed with Isabella Dolce (Media, Pa./Penncrest) to win 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.
Zahran holds a 2-1 record in both singles and doubles matches this fall. She is 20-7 during her three-year singles career.
Brandywine is idle until October 15 when the Lions host Virginia State at 1:00 PM.
