Zahran Earns Second-Straight Academic All-District Award

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine junior Samma Zahran (Brookhaven, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's Tennis Team for the second consecutive year on Thursday.

A student-athlete must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.50 and compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches to be eligible for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

Zahran was one of just three women's tennis student-athletes from the United East Conference to receive the honor. CSC Academic All-Americans will be announced in early June.

A psychology major, Zahran owns a 3.99 grade-point average at the conclusion of her junior year. She completed her fifth consecutive semester with straight-A grades this spring. Zahran has also been named a United East Scholar Athlete and an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar during her career.

On the court, Zahran set the program's single-season record for singles victories during the 2025-26 academic year, posting a 14-2 record. She earned First Team All-United East laurels after recording an 8-1 league record. Zahran owns a 32-8 career singles record entering her senior season.
