DeBooth Earns First United East Player Of The Week Award
MEDIA, Pa. -- Senior Elijah DeBooth (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) earned Penn State Brandywine's first-ever United East Conference Player of the Week award as he was named Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
DeBooth did not allow a goal in 135 minutes in net last week, while totaling 14 saves in two matches as Brandywine went 1-0-1.
He entered in the second half of Brandywine's 1-0 victory at Notre Dame of MD on Tuesday and made three stops, while earning the win. Four days later, DeBooth made a season-high 11 saves as Brandywine played Misericordia to a 0-0 home draw. Seven of DeBooth's stops against the Cougars came in the second half.
In six matches this fall, DeBooth owns a 2-1-3 record with 25 saves and a 0.89 goals-against average. He is tied for the conference lead with two shutouts, while ranking second in save percentage (.862) and third in goals-against average.
Brandywine (2-2-3) hosts Gettysburg Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 PM in the team's final tune-up before United East play begins Saturday.
