READING, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team dropped its first road matchup of the season, falling 82-31 at Alvernia on Monday night.
Abigail Adorno (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Lehman) knocked down a three-pointer to begin the game for the Lions, but Alvernia answered with 13-straight points and led 24-5 through one quarter. The Golden Wolves expanded their edge to 34 points at halftime and never let their lead dip below 30 points during the final 20 minutes.
Rayne Manson (Dayton, Ohio/Dunbar) topped the Lions with 10 points, while Adorno and Jazmyn Kemp (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) both tallied six points.
Kemp pulled down a team-best nine rebounds and collected two steals and Manson added three steals and two assists.
Brandywine (0-2) visits Bryn Mawr Thursday at 7:00 PM.
